Sometimes it is a question a little bit difficult to shocked, and I know that many students who want to choose the area of information technology are constantly asking, so here I want to give my opinion on the matter where you can start the career of computer science.
First, if you want to be a successful manager or an employee of a major of a company, you should make a career, since the majority of employers require today a title (engineer or BSc), along with your career you will discover your passion and it is so important that you must focus on what most excites you (networks, programming, database, etc.).
But sorry, I want you to know that even if you have a university degree in Engineering or Bachelor is not enough, since other types of preparations necessary.
Other than as detailed above I want you to know that no matter what the area in which you specialize you’ll realize a course of repair and maintenance of computers and introduction to computer, you must know all its parts and operation. If they still have not given it to you in the university, begins to investigate and/or learn online, you also have to choose what you want to specialize.
If you want to specialize in networking, I recommend Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) to start, and if you want to take a step further, I recommend you make an expert on IPv6, because I’m sure the time is approaching in IPv6 experts will be requested by many ISPs and large companies for their implementation.
Also we are in the era of Virtualization and Cloud Computing, so you have a course on these issues. Then I suggest that apart from opting for Cisco certifications, also you obtain a certification from Microsoft in server technology, plus you learn to configure Linux servers, you’ll see that you will be a networking expert and if you want to go the extra mile I recommend course of Information security.
If you want to specialize in web programming, I recommend you start with HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery, you see the program as a game and then continue with these languages that are extremely important if you want to quote you on the market. You must master the following languages: JAVA, .NET, C#, PHP, Python, and above all, as you know, we are in the era of the Mobile programming, so you learn to program for IOS platforms, Android and Windows Phone.
It is also important that you handle database managers such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL , which are most commonly used.
Most of these programming languages can learn in a self-taught way, as long as you have the passion and the engine that moves you.
Learn enough in order to sell in the market, every day is a new opportunity to acquire new knowledge, today there are many distractions, avoid them and think about what you really worth investing your time and you will see that you will be a successful professional.
